Was I Ever Going To Find Love Again?

Going through certain seasons of my life propelled me to research the word love. There is a particular scripture in the Bible that defines love in its entirety. I concluded that humanity lacked an understanding of love. I have not understood the word love well and am still on the journey of understanding it well.

I was given this scripture by someone who had it on their Whatsapp profile for a while. The person thought they met the Definition of love in that scripture. I told them they did not embody it all. I said they did not display it all simply from watching from afar and having dealt closely with this person. I told this person that I am yet to find any human being on earth who will give love or love as is prescribed in 1st Corinthians 13: 4 - 8. I went ahead and said only Jesus could provide that kind of love. My thinking has not changed on that after a couple of years, and I stand to be corrected

Corinthians 13: 4-8 defines love as love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy; it does not boast; it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. I challenge you today to take each of these elements of love and ponder on them. If you lack any of them, ask for grace from God to manifest this kind of love.

Back to my heading for today's blog, was I ever going to find love again? That kind of selfless love we yearn for has always been around. Only God can give it. I was able to find love again, not just any kind of love; I found true love, God only gives that kind of love, and he withholds nothing.

Shalom,

Imani
