Forgiveness is letting go of resentment and anger. Forgiveness is intentional and has to be voluntary. You have to decide to undergo a change in your feelings towards yourself, a particular person, or a situation.
I was a victim of unforgiveness. I knew I needed to forgive myself and certain people, but it became rather challenging. Unforgiveness had an emotional and physical toll on me. My spiritual life also became stale. I exhibited so much anger in this season; I will be triggered easily. I was aging quickly. I began to develop hypertension. I would display intermittent palpitation. I struggled in this season, all due to unforgiveness. I was losing it.
My liberation began when I decided to forgive and let go. Forgiveness for me in this season was to learn to forgive myself and others. I needed God. I needed the Holy Spirit, to be my helper in this season.
Forgiveness does not necessarily mean reconciliation. You don’t have to return to the same relationship and toxic behavior. You can still forgive these people who have wronged you and love them from afar.
Some of the benefits of forgiveness are: forgiveness can protect you against anxiety and depression. You slow the aging process that could instead come on speedily as a result of unforgiveness. Forgiveness can benefit your cardiac health by lowering your blood pressure. Forgiveness propels you forward in life; you become light when you forgive. You experience happiness when you forgive; you become hopeful.
Scripture teaches us about forgiveness. Matthew 6:14 tells us to forgive one another when they sin against us so that our Heavenly Father will also forgive us. Ephesians 4:32 tells us to be kind and compassionate, forgiving each other just as God in Christ forgave us. Luke 6:37 tells us to stop judging, and we will not be judged, stop condemning, and we will not be condemned, forgive and we will be forgiven.
How have you dealt with unforgiveness?
Heavenly Father, please grace us to forgive ourselves and other people who have wounded us.

Thank you for sharing dear God bless you
Sometimes it’s so hard to forgive oneself Sissy 🥺I pray God grace us all 🙌🙌🙌
Forgiveness is truly not an easy process to start with but always a much better place to be. True forgiveness takes place when our pain is numb when we remember those who offended us and the offense itself . It’s a proc and might take a while. But it’s worth it
Thanks for sharing. Praise God for your liberation. The grace of God has helped me to forgive and move on. If God has forgiven me, there's no need holding offenses against people. Though it's tough just to let go when people have or keep wronging you.... Thank God for our Greatest Counselor who always help us in tough situations.
Forgiveness is healing! It is peace of mind. It restores us. Praise God for forgiveness. 🙏
Sigh I’ve forgiven before from and with my whole heart. yet when I saw I was receiving none of the things I desire for independence such as being able to live on my own, have my own car, have entrance into the career of my dreams, finances for health, i still forgave but I saw those i had forgiven getting everything I was asking God for.
so forgiveness towards myself for not taking more attention and care for myself because no one would or did help me get my needs fulfill. left me with great unforgiveness towards myself And regretting meeting people and doing things for those people. I feel foolish and suffering with no way out at the moment…
