In the past few weeks, I have heard about the deaths of two influential figures through suicide.
A lot is going on in the world; the world has gotten rather busy.
Are you taking care of yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically? Self-care is paramount to our being. Slow down and take some time out to take care of your self,
talk to someone if you have to. I am now a firm believer in counseling, having gone through it myself. I refer my patients for counseling all the time before I offer them prescriptive medications.
Outside of paying for professional counseling, I have one or two people that I go to for biblical and sound advice. God should be the ultimate, but he also works through people. You don’t want to talk to just anyone; ask for the spirit of discernment in this area.
Are you burned out from work? If so, take some time off from the hustle and bustle of life and rest, go on vacations. Are you eating the proper foods? are you getting enough sleep? Make a deliberate effort to tend to your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs to the best of your ability. Is God the center of your life? If not, make him the center of your being
Research suggests self-care promotes positive health outcomes. It fosters resilience, you live longer, and you become better equipped to manage stress. Make self-care part of your daily routine.
