I am still on the matter of love. Envy is a feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else's possessions, qualities, or luck, according to the Oxford English dictionary.
In the context of 1 Corinthians 13, love does not focus on personal desires. It does not delight to increase possessions. God’s type of love is selfless, not selfish. This kind of love involves putting others' needs above yours to see them happy and fulfilled.
“Envy rots the bones” (proverbs 14:30). When we crave what someone else has rather than being grateful for what God has given, we hurt ourselves. It is too much work on the body to envy. You see the people you envy and anger starts rising inside of you because you despise them, this is a poisonous way of living
I have come across people in various seasons of my life who, out of envy or jealousy, will do whatever it takes to defame one’s character in an attempt to destroy you. Some of them have been so-called friends. Our call to love is not to envy. True love, Gods love rejoices when others are blessed
Today, May you rejoice in the success of others.
You are right Imani. God restore you speedily in Jesus' name.
Stay blessed.
