Have you ever asked the question, why me?
I have. Self-pity is a form of bondage. You have to choose to give up self-pity to be free deliberately.
Many of us want the new yet we hold on to the past things. You have to let go of the blame, bitterness, and self-pity to embrace the new fully.
Like the man at the pool of Bethesda, Jesus asked, are you sure you want to be healed? John 5:5-6
Self-pity is not an emotion in itself; it’s a state of mind. Self-pity ensues when you focus too much on your problems and believe you are a victim of circumstance.
It feels good to wallow in self-pity over the short term; hence it’s easy to fall into it. If we stay in self-pity for a while, it becomes like a bottomless black pit that’s difficult to climb out. It's my prayer that none of us will fall into self-pity and wallow in it so that we can freely embrace the new. Shalom
Adobea, (Imani)

"State of mind" so true. May God help me let go of the past to EMBRACE the NEW FULLY, in Jesus name,
