I am pretty sure we all could do with the finisher‘s anointing at some point in our lives. The finisher's anointing means staying consistent till the end of a matter. I am not referring to consistency with things that take you out of God's purpose and will for your life. I am referring to finishers anointing to finish that which aligns you to your divine purpose and destiny.
I will give a practical example; at the beginning of the year, I decided to go on a 21 day fast. If you know me, you will realize that I love my food, and honestly, I struggle with fasting sometimes, especially when I decide to go on a spiritual fast. Ironically, I have no problem fasting to lose weight. I did pretty well for about five days. I mean real good. During the five days, I had unexplainable mental clarity; my notes were all made before I left work, and that particular week I had to write a lot of notes because of a surge in COVID cases. I hungered for the word during these five days, and I only wanted to be around and do things that enlightened my soul.
I am unsure what happened, but I threw in the towel, and I didn’t fast that weekend. My morning on that Saturday started rough, with no motivation to do anything that weekend; what happened to my zeal and mental clarity? Work on Monday was quite different. I couldn’t tell you exactly what it was, but it was other than the week before. I jokingly told a friend yesterday that I ought to be fasting more. The moral of the story is that we all need the finishers anointing, especially for The will of God to be made perfect in our lives.
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit" (Zech. 4:6). "by my Spirit." is the anointing. It is only through God's Spirit that anything of lasting value is accomplished. The anointing to complete every God-given project in life is the finisher's anointing.
I pray that God will grace us the ability to finish every divine assignment and to finish that which aligns us to purpose and destiny.
Shalom
Imani
