Changing your core.

I have met so many people along this life’s journey. I believe everyone we cross paths with has their purpose in our lives. Some are to encourage us; others come into our lives to teach us a lesson. Some stay, and some dissipate into thin air over time

I have a few friends that I do not talk to daily, and I don’t have to speak to them every day, but anytime we talk or meet, it’s beautiful.

As you evolve, you realize that changing your core is a necessity. “If you are not intentional in changing your core, you will revert to your default settings” ( Sarah Jakes Robert’s)

Some people have to go; some character traits have to die; you have to fight for your new core because the old will pull you back. The old core will tell you; you are not worthy; the old will use your past against you and threaten to defame who you are. The old core will allow other people’s personalities and ignorance to turn you into something you are not.

The old core will have nothing good to say about you and nothing to offer you, especially with the emergence of the person you are becoming. The old core can not show you mercy or grace. You do not have to be in the midst of such people; you got to keep it moving and build a new core. Changing your core helps you to embark on who God called you to be; it allows you to get in alignment with God.

When you change your core, the old you can not make decisions anymore. Changing your core will not be comfortable because that will mean dissociating from certain people, behaviors, etc. Changing your core can mean dying yo your flesh. Anything you did in the past to satisfy your flesh must go; it can not transition into the new core.

Once you change your core, you have to start producing from the core. You have to bear good fruit. The kids the other day said to me, mom, you are so much happier now; You are not always on edge and irritable anymore. That is what happens when you change your core, and for me it is made evident in the fruit that I now bear.

Father, I pray that you will help us change our cores and produce from our new core to align with who you have called us to be. Shalom
